Defenitions

Denotation: what you can detect from a shot-two children playing suggests innocence
Connotation: How the scene has been put together to influence your response – an over the shoulder shot of the children from the perspective of a man hiding in the trees, for example gives a different impression
Angle- high and low
Shot- Mid/close up etc

Camera Angles

Establishing shots can:
  • Set the scence
  • allow the audience to notice...
  • Shows contrasts between...
Close ups can :
  • Shows emtions of the charactes
  • Influence the audience's response too..
Mid shots can:
  • Relationships between people
Zooming in can show:
  • A scene how a character in the scence may see it
  • Can allow the audeince to take in a number of details
Panning shots can:
  • Estabblish more of a scene, allow the audience to see things that may prove important, how a characte lives for example
Extreme close up:
  • highlight relationships between characters and who heirachy

zooms in on tv when they kiss, then a close up on bradley and tanyas face

Steph's crying and sobbing
Steph rushes to get out but niall gets her leg, she lets out a high scream
the setting is dark and gloomy
When both standing at cliff edge you think they are gonna both jump together
Niall starts betain up craig, the comparsion is steph loves craig and she doesnt niall
Stpeh tells naill she doesnt love him which makes him cry
Niall stands facinmg steph and steps backwards off the cliff, as this happens steph lets out a loud scream, the camera shows a close up on her face as she looks over the cliff watching him fall to his death
the camera zooms out showing the height he falls. you hear a loud noise as he hits the fall.
He has the necklace he gave to steph in his hand which is sad
